Pioneer Collectibles FAQs

Factual answers regarding Satisfactory 1.0 collectible quantities, respawns, completionism, and surplus items.

How many total collectibles are in Satisfactory 1.0?
There are exactly 1,767 hand-placed world collectibles in Satisfactory 1.0 (Release Build #382498): 118 Hard Drives (crashed drop pods), 106 Somersloops, 298 Mercer Spheres, 1,242 Power Slugs (596 Blue, 389 Yellow, 257 Purple), and 3 Secret Boom Box Cassettes.
Do collectibles respawn in Satisfactory?
No. All collectibles placed across the game world are strictly finite and do not respawn once harvested. However, Lizard Doggos can occasionally bring players Power Slugs when tamed, and Version 1.0 introduces infinite Synthetic Power Shards in Tier 9.
Can you unlock every alternate recipe and MAM upgrade in one save?
Yes, 100%. The world contains more than enough items for complete completion. There are ~90 alternate recipes and 118 hard drives (yielding 28 surplus drives). There are 298 Mercer Spheres, while maxing every MAM upgrade requires only 97 spheres (leaving 201 spare spheres to build uploaders).
What should you do with surplus Hard Drives and Mercer Spheres?
Extra Hard Drives can be used to unlock additional inventory hand slots via milestones, or safely archived. Extra Mercer Spheres are used to construct Dimensional Depot Uploaders across remote factory outposts (each uploader costs 1 Mercer Sphere and 0 MW electricity).
Where are the 3 secret Boom Box tapes located?
1. Deep Rock Galactic: Inside a waterfall cave in the Southern Grass Fields (X: -1257, Y: 1687, Z: 35m).
2. Songs of Conquest: On a high rock in Crater Lakes (X: -371, Y: -607, Z: 180m).
3. Huntdown: On the summit of a desert mesa on the Spire Coast boundary (X: 1948, Y: -1886, Z: 240m).
What is the best order to hunt collectibles for factory progression?
1. Mercer Spheres first: Unlock the Dimensional Depot immediately to build foundations and belts from cloud inventory.
2. Free Hard Drives early: Loot the 34 free crash sites to get S-Tier recipes (Cast Screw, Solid Steel, Wet Concrete).
3. Power Slugs for Miners: Overclock Pure resource nodes to 250% to saturate conveyor belt throughput.
4. Somersloops for Space Elevator: Save Somersloops to double complex Phase 4 & 5 elevator parts.
