01 Why We Built SatisfactoryMap.org
Throughout early access and leading up to the historic 1.0 release of Satisfactory, our team of factory veterans ran into the same repeated annoyance: existing web maps were sluggish, bogged down with dozens of third-party advertising trackers, and constantly out-of-date after major world overhauls.
When you are routing hundreds of kilometers of Mk.6 conveyor belts or building a 50,000 MW nuclear power complex, the last thing you want is an alt-tabbed browser tab freezing your computer with video ads. We wanted something different: a clean, razor-sharp, distraction-free companion tool that loads instantly, tracks every drop pod and collectible, and treats pioneers with respect.
02 The Four Core Pillars
60 FPS Native Canvas
We render terrain and interactive pins straight to hardware-accelerated HTML5 Canvas. No bloated frameworks slowing down your frame rates.
True 1.0 Build Accuracy
Every single node purity, crash site item cost, and alien artifact coordinate was verified against the definitive 1.0 release (Build #382498).
Zero Trackers & Local Privacy
Your checklist progress and collected drop pods stay in your browser's localStorage. We never track your personal data or sell your information.
All 1,767 World Collectibles
Full database coverage: 118 Hard Drives, 106 Somersloops, 298 Mercer Spheres, 1,242 Power Slugs, and all 3 hidden Boombox Tapes.
03 Precision Coordinate Math
Satisfactory's MASSAGE-2(AB)b world coordinates are measured in Unreal Engine centimeters from an origin point located near the center of the continent. Many older community tools had coordinate drifts of 10 to 50 meters because they applied pre-1.0 bounding box calculations.
How We Map Unreal Coordinates to Canvas Decameters
In our coordinate engine, Unreal centimeters are converted to decameters (1 decameter = 10 meters = 1,000 Unreal units). Every pin on our map accurately aligns with in-game compass readouts and save file transforms.
04 Alternate Recipe Tier List Methodology
Our Alternate Recipe Tier List is not based on guesswork. It was rigorously tested across hundreds of pioneer megabases. We rank recipes according to five mathematical factors:
- Raw Resource Multiplier: Does this recipe stretch scarce resources like Caterium, Bauxite, and Raw Quartz? (e.g., Diluted Fuel triples your fuel yield per barrel of crude oil).
- Spaghetti Elimination: Does the recipe eliminate tedious intermediate items like Screws or Silica loops? (e.g., Cast Screw and Heavy Encased Frame).
- Power Efficiency: Total megawatt-hours consumed per finished part across the whole production chain.
- Building Footprint: How many constructors, blenders, or manufacturers are needed to achieve standard production quotas.
- Late-Game Scalability: How well does the recipe pair with Phase 4 and Phase 5 Project Assembly milestones.
05 The Team & Acknowledgments
SatisfactoryMap.org is proudly maintained by an independent collective of software engineers, data miners, and passionate factory architects.
Heartfelt Thanks to Coffee Stain Studios
We extend our deepest gratitude to the developers, artists, and sound designers at Coffee Stain Studios AB for crafting one of the most brilliant automation sandboxes in gaming history. Satisfactory is their creation, and we are honored to build tools that celebrate their world.
